We are living in a world filled with hostility: politically, in the US and internationally in the unending wars in Israel and the Ukraine. For some of us, it is all too reminiscent of the racial upset and the Vietnam War in the 1960s.

What is God’s will and how can we respond as Christians??

Pastor Bonhoeffer, one of our most highly respected Lutheran theologians, asked these questions during the turmoil in Germany leading up to World War II. It would not be right to overidentify with that era, but the faith questions Pastor Bonhoeffer raised seem very relevant for us in America.
