Devotionals

A variety of Devotional booklets are available at Messiah throughout the year.  All are free and available to anyone who walks in our doors.

The Word in Season is a daily devotional, published quarterly by Augsburg Fortress.  Each day’s devotional includes a scripture reading, followed by a short meditation and prayer.   Prayers for each day of the week, as well as general morning and evening prayers are also included.  Its small size makes it easy to take on vacation or when out of town.

Devozine is a lifestyle magazine designed for youth and published bi-monthly by The Upper Room.   It is written by young people and adults who work with them.  Its purpose is to help young people develop a lifelong practice of spending time with God and reflecting on what God is doing in their lives.  Each issue focuses on one theme for each week.  Each theme includes weekday meditations (in a variety of formats) and a feature article for the weekend.

Lenten Devotionals  Each Lent the Faith Formation team selects a special daily devotional booklet specifically created for the Lenten Season.    Everyone is encouraged to take a book and use it on their Lenten Journey.

Lutheran Indian Ministries is an organization that shares the Gospel with men, women and children living in remote communities of North America.  They provide both Advent and Lenten Devotionals.  Each day includes a Bible verse, reflection and prayer written by their staff in the field.   The goal is to inspire you in God’s Word and help you gain a better understanding of Native American history, culture and the unique challenges facing Native Americans today.
