A NOTE FROM PASTOR AILEEN – April 6, 2021

PASTORAL MESSAGE

Dear Friends,

A blessed Easter to you! What good news we share that “Christ is risen! Alleluia!” We have been witnesses to an act of grace without compare. That Jesus Christ was mocked and beaten; betrayed and abandoned and put to death out of fear and hatred, is an act that screams for revenge. Instead, God raised Jesus from the dead and turned him loose on the world to continue his message of forgiveness and life for all people. It is absolutely astounding!

You are now invited to spend the month pondering this gift of grace and its impact on how you perceive other graces in your life; indeed, how you live out grace in your life. The Stewardship Team is encouraging you to perform an intentional act of grace. At some point in time this month, please do a completely unexpected act of kindness for someone else. The someone else is completely up to you. It could be a member of your family or a friend, a neighbor, even a stranger. You may make that person aware of your kindness or you may do it secretly. It’s completely up to you.

Secondly, send a word or phrase that describes what grace means to you to Julie Gerstenberger for a “Word Splash” to be displayed at our worship services throughout the month. Confirmands are taught that GRACE means “God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.” That’s a big phrase. Help us to unpack it in practical terms!

All that we do is in response to the grace and mercy shown through Jesus Christ on the cross. Everything we are about as the church is living out that grace and mercy, being God’s hands and feet and mouthpieces in the world.

Help us to do and say in the world, “Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!”

Easter Blessings!

Pastor Aileen
